Latissimus dorsi

The latissimus dorsi is a triangular, flat muscle, which covers the lumbar region and the lower half of the trunk, and is gradually contracted into a narrow fasciculus at its insertion into the humerus.

To increase the power of this muscle, the muscle can be trained with the following exercises:

  • pull-down (compound)
  • bent-over row (compound)
  • chin-up and pull-up (compound)
  • pull-over (single-joint)
  • dumbbell-rows (compound)
  • Deadlift (compound)
